Description
Nest is on almost 2 acres of native gardens and bushland on Dja Dja Wurrung Country. A couple’s hideaway ideal for celebrating a special occasion, or simply an escape to the country where you can rest, relax and rejuvenate from the fast pace of life. A focus on indigenous plantings, bush regeneration, and habitat creation creates a dreamy native environment.
From the warmth of your very own outdoor hot tub, you are immersed in the natural surroundings of this landscape. You will spot a variety of birds including yellow robins, chestnut crowned babblers, eastern spinebills, rosellas, cockatoos, pardalotes, new holland, white-eared honeyeaters, tawny frogmouths and southern boobooks, king parrots, common bronze wings, kookaburras, wrens and many more. In the warmer months dragonflies buzz by, and you’ll hear the boisterous frog songs – including the cute growl of the endangered growling grass frog. Occasional visitors include a variety of ducks who bring their fluffy babies onto the pond, kangaroos with joeys, ring and brush-tailed possums, swamp wallabies and echidnas.
From nearby you can view the dormant volcano Lalgambook (Mt Franklin). The native Gunangara Gundidj clan of the Dja Dja Wurrung tribe held corroborees and other tribal ceremonies there. Take a picnic and a scenic drive to lunch in the crater and walk through the pine forest.
Nest is a modern chic villa, a cosy place to experience the nature beauty and native wildlife of the region, conveniently located a short stroll to Daylesford.
