Located near the site of a historic quartz mine from the 1800’s, Quartz Retreat is a modern holiday home in the heart of Daylesford ideal for families and group getaways.

Expansive views from a gorgeous north facing deck help to kick-start a weekend of rest, rejuvenation and fun at Quartz Retreat in Daylesford. Named in homage to the quartz mine that once stood nearby during the gold rush of the 1800’s, owners Nick & Kelcy, built Quartz Retreat as their dream holiday home.

Located in Daylesford, they chose the area as the location for their retreat due to Nick’s family ties to the region. Nick is originally from the area, his parents opening the first a la carte restaurant in Daylesford. He fondly remembers growing up in this picturesque country town.

When he met his partner Kelcy and brought her to meet his parents for the first time, she fell in love with the area immediately.

I felt that there was a really lovely energy in the area. I’m not sure whether it’s the variety of restaurants and cafes, the beautiful scenery or the shops available to explore but a weekend to Daylesford always proves to be a relaxing one. We love staying at the house (we wish we could stay more often!) but it’s great being able to walk to the Wombat Hill Café for breakfast/ high tea or drive out to Sault for a delicious degustation or just stay put and do not much at all.

What they envisaged was a retreat from their busy lives (Nick is a cabinet maker running his own business and Kelcy an accountant). Whilst they are both keen travellers, having explored America, Europe and New Zealand, they wanted somewhere not too far from home where they and their guests could settle in and relax, making the most of the brilliant layout, views and features in the property. As keen outdoors people, they also wanted their holiday home to be located somewhere that they could simply stroll out the front door to explore the lake, the gardens, town or rolling farmland close-by. The block of land on Stanbridge St delivered on the location and Nick & Kelcy then set out to build from scratch the retreat they imagined.

Set over two levels, Quartz Retreat is ideal for families or groups of up to 10 guests with flexible bedding options across five bedrooms. Only a short stroll from the main town centre of Daylesford there is no shortage of options for dining out, however if staying in is more your style, the fully equipped designer kitchen has everything you need to settle in and cook up a storm.

On the upper floor, relax and enjoy a movie in the comfortable lounge or watch the sun set across the church spires of Daylesford from the balcony. Downstairs, enjoy a BBQ and alfresco dining on the deck. With multiple options to come together as a group or retreat to your own room for quiet time, the choice is yours.

Located a leisurely stroll away from the Wombat Hill Botanic Gardens and Convent Gallery and a short walk to the lake and town centre, Quartz Retreat is a great base for families and groups to explore the region or settle in and enjoy a weekend of rest and relaxation.
