When you want to get away from the city, spend some time walking country lanes and taking in the incredible clean air and serene locations, then Campari at Daylesford is your little slice of heaven.

Nestled in a quiet nook on Lake Road, Campari is a gorgeous two bedroom getaway three hundred meters from Lake Daylesford and a further 200 metres to the Lake House restaurant. Recently renovated, the property offers both a king-split and queen bedroom, making it ideal for 1 or 2 couples or a small group of friends.

The property has an open plan layout that is extended by a country style veranda. Sit outside any time of the day and enjoy a cup of tea, or indeed a Campari and Soda in amongst the birch trees and birdsong. Campari boasts a spectacular new bathroom featuring a walk-in shower and a luxurious two-person bath to soak the days away.

A fully equipped kitchen and glass front fireplace create a warm and cosy environment to stay in over winter, however, should you wish to explore further afield, the owners have left a list of highlights to discover.

Start with the immediate area and explore Lake Road by car or on foot; you can walk to Jubilee Lake and make friends with the friendly peacocks, take out a paddleboat, pack a picnic and indulge by the water or simply soak up the atmosphere of this lovely spot. On the way back, stop by Des O’Toole’s roadside honey stall and select from the many varieties of honey on offer. His bees have easy access to pastures and The Wombat State Forest and depending on the time of year and weather conditions will produce a huge variety of honey.  Spring brings Orange Blossom, Clover and Salvation Jane honey. Summer produces Yellow Box, Red Box, Peppermint, Messmate and Red Gum honey’s. Autumn is the time for Stringy Bark, Grey Box and Ironbark and in winter there’s Desert Banksia, Mallee, Ti Tree, Melaleuca and Manuka honey’s.

Alternatively, stroll the main street of Daylesford and discover great eateries, curio shops and galleries. A walk up the hill will have you ready to indulge in a hearty meal at one of Daylesford’s friendly and unique café’s or restaurants.

Start with breakfast or lunch at Cliffy’s Emporium, a fabulous rustic timber and corrugated iron building which originally operated as a general store with an extraordinary range of produce, groceries and farm supplies. Today the shelves are still crammed with local produce, preserves, mineral water and fruit and vegetables, whilst the café serves up delicious coffee and exceptional meals inside the old world charm, or outside under the grapevine.

For a once in a lifetime dinner experience indulge at The Lakehouse restaurant for a truly memorable meal right on the shores of Lake Daylesford and only 500m from Campari. They deliver beautiful, cutting edge seasonal food in an incredible environment that leaves nothing to be desired.

Pop in the car and drop in at The Daylesford Cider Co to sample the organically grown range of cider on their farm just outside of Daylesford. The Cellar door is open 7 days a week, and Lunch is available Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday.

To cleanse the palate and soothe the soul, head down to the Hepburn Mineral Springs Reserve. Don’t forget to bring your bottles and take home samples from the many mineral springs from Australia’s spa capital.  Home to the highest concentration of mineral springs in Australia, there are a number of mineral springs dotted around Daylesford, Hepburn Springs and the wider region. After sampling the water, head to the Hepburn Bathhouse & Spa for a soak in the mineral water and feel for yourself the therapeutic benefits the mineral water is so famous for.
