The Farmhouse was spacious with a feeling of luxury. It was decorated in a grand style. It was warm, clean and comfortable. There were views from every window of autumn colours. We even had a resident peacock. A highlight was being able to visit Paul’s garden. Just breathtaking.

How wonderful to have a log fire set in the lounge, and plenty of kindling, wood etc for the next day. Apart from the central heating, and the reverse cycle heater, it was very comforting to have a log fire burning.

This is a great place to stay if you want a quiet retreat. This is a cosy studio with spa – well fitted out, and comfortable. We enjoy eating out on deck. It is a short walk to the Wombat Botanical Gardens, which are always a treat.

This is a magnificent home to stay in if you wish to curl up by the fire on comfortable couches overlooking a beautiful forest with walking tracks around Lake Daylesford. The beds are so comfortable and the cast iron bath is an added bonus. It was freezing outside but we were warm & cosy. Highly recommend this beautiful property.

Hepburn View is a traditional Miner’s Cottage built in 1921 and set on 1/2 acre of mature landscaped garden. During the warmer months enjoy calm bush views from the 4-5 person jacuzzi on the deck or relax in the 2 double sized hammocks in the garden. In winter, the leather couch is the perfect spot to watch a movie on the 55 inch Panasonic TV and enjoy the open fire.

We had a sensational time here. The house and grounds are spacious and the outdoor areas are sublime to relax in. I highly recommend a spa at night time, turn off all lights (indoor and outdoor) and marvel at the blackest sky and brightest stars you will ever see. Incredible! We could hardly hear a sound. You wake in a gorgeous setting listening to birds singing and the comfy outdoor setting or hammocks provide perfect places to lounge and read. We could feel the tension leaving our bodies the moment we arrived.

15. Zelman Cottage – Hepburn Springs

A rare opportunity to immerse yourself in a place of historical significance at Zelman Cottage. Built circa 1910 for artist Victor Zelman and his wife Clara, a sensitive refurbishment has been undertaken whilst retaining the original character of the property including the beautiful handpainted frieze. Not much has changed except the addition of modern luxurious bathrooms and beautiful furniture and linen.

The addition of ducted heating throughout every room, and reverse cycle air-conditioned throughout the open plan living, dining, and kitchen areas means you will be comfortable and warm even in the depths of winter.
