If we only require one bedroom in a multiple bedroom property, do we share our accommodation with other guests?
If the property is self-contained, you have sole occupancy and complete privacy, meaning you will not share with other guests. The unused room will not be booked out or set up for other guests. If you enjoy having other guests around, choose to book into a bed-and-breakfast, guesthouse, or hotel.
Do you accept single night bookings?
We do accept single night bookings midweek (Sunday thru Thursday). On weekends, as with many accommodations in the region, there is a two-night minimum. We do have a couple of properties that will take a single Saturday night. Please contact our office for details.
If I book just for myself do I get a discount?
The tariffs quoted are for the use of bedrooms, which are normally assumed to accommodate two people, so, sorry, but no. The good news though is you can bring a friend at no extra cost.
There are three of us staying, but one guest will only be staying for one night. How does that affect the tariff?
Tariffs are based on the number of bedrooms occupied, whether for one night or for the complete duration of a booking.
Can I call the owners directly and negotiate?
In most cases Daylesford Getaways has exclusive management of all the properties listed in our portfolio. Tariffs are fixed. They remain the same regardless of whether the owners or we make the booking.
How do I book?
You can book 24 hours a day, seven days a week through our website www.dayget.com.au, which is linked with the secure Commonwealth Bank site. Alternatively you can book over the phone during business hours by ringing 03 5348 4422, or stop in to see us at 123 Vincent St, Daylesford.
How much of a deposit do I need to pay?
We require a 50% deposit to secure your booking. The balance is due 7 days prior to your arrival. For online bookings the full tariff must be paid with credit card over the Internet.
Are there 'Industry' or 'Travel Agent' rates?
Most properties are owned by individuals rather than hotel chains, so the price listed is generally the price you pay.
Are the tariffs commissionable?
No. Because we are agents ourselves, the tariffs are not commissionable.
Can I pay with Diners Club or American Express?
We can accept Diners Club or American Express. There is a 3% surcharge when using these cards. We're happy to accept Visa, MasterCard, or Bankcard with no surcharge.
I don't have a credit card, how can I pay?
You can pay with a bank cheque, money order, or a direct deposit to our bank account. Please contact our office for bank account details.

Do you have pet friendly properties?

What about check-out?
Most accommodations have a 12pm check-out.
Can we check in early?
It depends. If a property is booked the previous night, then we need to allow carers enough time to clean the accommodation. However, if the property isn't booked the night before, and there is no maintenance scheduled, we will endeavour to check you in earlier than 3pm.
Can we have a late check out?
Again it depends. If we have a booking for the evening, we need to prepare the property for the next guests, but if not, we will try to accommodate a later checkout. Requests for late checkouts can incur additional fees as late checkouts can make the property unavailable for the next evening.
What is your cancellation policy?
We have a fairly strict cancellation policy, which is as follows:

Are the champagne, chocolates, and other goodies we found in our accommodation for us?
If goodies are supplied in your accommodation (chocolates, champagne, bath products, etc) they are part of your accommodation package, so they're there for you to eat, use and enjoy!
Can we use the phone?
If there is a phone in your accommodation then feel free to use it for local calls to restaurants, cabs, day spas, our office and so on. In-house phones will not operate STD. They will accept incoming long distance calls, but if you want to call someone outside the area you'll have to use a public phone (located outside the Daylesford and Hepburn Springs Post Offices) or your mobile, Telstra and Optus both receive mobile coverage in this area.
Do we have to clean up?
We really appreciate it if you leave your accommodation neat and tidy! We also ask that you please refrain from moving furniture around or from one property to another. Additional fees can apply if accommodations are not left in a neat and tidy condition.
Where do you recommend for dinner?

There are many places to dine in the region from casual cafes to fine dining restaurants. A few we recommend based on guest feedback are Deco Restaurant in Hepburn Springs, the Farmers Arms or Mercato in Daylesford, and Sault Restaurant just outside of Daylesford. Pick up a copy of 'lost', Daylesford's free monthly events magazine. There is a restaurant and café guide in the back pages. Alternatively, check out the restaurant section of our website.
